FAQ

DARE TO LEARN 2020 CANCELED

Why is the event canceled?

We had to call off the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why not go fully virtual?

We did explore digital solutions (incl. VR/XR) early on and evaluated the potential of a fully virtual event. If you have been to the festival before, you know that Dare to Learn is all about meaningful encounters and warm, invigorating atmosphere. With the resources at hand, we came to the conclusion that we would not be able to guarantee these aspects in a fully virtual world. At least not right now.

I have already bought a ticket to Dare to Learn 2020. What happens now?

We will be in touch with all ticket buyers personally via email. If you have not received anything from us, please contact us at info@daretolearn.fi. Make sure to check your trash just in case, tho!

EVENT

Is the event held in English?

Mainly yes. Speeches and workshop instructions are given in English so that we have doors open to international guests and ideas. In workshops and different intimate discussions language is up to participants. The atmosphere in the event is accepting so broken English works well!

When will the program be released?

The program and other information will be released closer to the event. So don’t worry, you’ll get the information!

TICKETS

You have two ticket categories. How do I know which ticket I am supposed buy?

In general, your workplace defines your ticket choice:

  • Private: company, industry
  • Public: higher education institutions, government organizations, municipalities, NGOs, non-profit organizations, schools

If you can’t charge your ticket from your employer and you pay if for yourself, you can buy a public sector ticket regardless of your employer’s sector.

 Why two categories?

We want to make quality learning accessible for all. If you work in a company, let's say as an HRD specialist, you can buy a private sector ticket. The purpose of the public sector ticket is to make participation possible also for those people, who can’t afford the “company ticket”, for example individual teachers or employees of a student union. This year, our main theme is "Continuous learning beyond degrees" and we're interested in ways to improve the culture of learning in all kinds of organizations - whether it be a school, a big company or a small non-profit organization.

I’m currently unemployed. What kind of ticket I should buy?

You can buy a public sector ticket!

Do you have student tickets?

Unfortunately no. Students can buy a public sector ticket, unless their private sector employer pays for the ticket. If the ticket price is still too much, please consider volunteering at the event! More information about volunteering on our website’s volunteering section, where open volunteer positions are published during the spring.

I’m purchasing multiple tickets for my organization, but I’m not sure yet, who will participate. However, your online shop requires a name and some other information for each ticket. What should I do?

If you are buying multiple tickets for your organization or group but you don’t know all the participants yet, you can type dash (-) or “unknown” to the compulsory fields in the ticket shop. You can give us the missing participant information later by sending email info@daretolearn.fi! Required information: name, profession, organization, country of residence, email.
