Dare to Learn is looking for a new energetic doer to continue Anni’s work as CEO. We offer an exciting and challenging role as head of an enthusiastic bunch, also with a lot of freedom and responsibility. You don’t need to be a ready-made leader but we do expect you to want to learn new things every day with a resilient attitude. Dare to Learn is driven by a mission to make world a better place through enabling a culture of learning everywhere.
What’s the job like?
As CEO you’ll be in charge of three main areas:
1) leading and supervising a group of team leaders,
2) key partnerships and negotiations,
3) developing Dare’s strategy together with our board.
You’ll work closely with team leaders (that are in charge of e.g. program, marketing and volunteers), our partners from different areas of society (from ministries to companies) and the chair of the board. You can expect your days to be filled with meetings and encounters - hope you like new people!
Rather than give the right answers, your job is to ask the right questions. However, sometimes you’ll need to be the tough one: steering moves necessary for the organization or pushing negotiations to a successful end.
Official working languages of the team are Finnish and English. The job will start in Dec-Jan, and is 80 – 100 % with flexible working hours. Dare to Learn is owned and organized by a non-profit association called Sivistyskiihdyttämö which is also CEO’s official employer.
What are our superpowers?
We absolutely love what we do. The office is always full of enthusiasm, passion and young talent. You’ll get to intimately know the education scene and its actors, in Finland and abroad. We’re welcomed basically everywhere we go. Not a single day is the same - we hope you see beauty and possibilities in creative chaos.
… and what maybe not?
We’re not going to compete with the size of our paychecks, while salary is of course up for negotiation. Being a non-profit, that’s the reality. While it won’t make your wallet fat, this job will definitely be a place to grow and learn as well as make a positive impact on society.
Who you (probably) are?
Soon-to-be or recently graduated from higher education. You have practical experience in leadership and project management. You’ve proven yourself in your ability to hop into a situation and start making things happen. You have a passion for lifelong learning and/or social enterprises. You have an existing, rather wide personal/professional network in the domain of lifelong learning. You have a strong sense of self-knowledge which helps you to bear pressure.
We’d love, if you also...
Have some experience (volunteer or work) in sales, fundraising or corporate relations. Or maybe you’re a smooth operator in public speaking and social networking? Well-experienced in large-scale event production?
Screaming ‘yes’? Great! Here’s what to do…
